HIGH-S-LIGHT 400 G BOOST

Acceleration Resistant On-Board Lighting System

The HIGH-S-LIGHT 400 G BOOST is a special design to match the requirements of on-board illumination for High-Speed Photography of crash test vehicle or sled test applications.

The small light head is equipped with a 400 W metal halide lamp and coupled with a flexible hose to the igniter and cooling unit.

The characteristic colour temperature of the lamp is 5.600 K (daylight) with about 60% radiation in the visible light and an average lifetime of 750 hour or 1.500 starts.

The EPS module (electronic power supply) drives the lamp with square-wave current and controls the power. This reduces the modulation of the radiation to less than 4 % and allows flicker-free pictures. The EPS module offers operation modes from 100 % or 200 % of the nominal lamp power. The 200 % mode, the so-called BOOST mode, offers more than twice the light intensity for about 10 seconds.

The Standby mode, is used to reduce the heat radiation to the samples prior the executed test. Due to the reason that there is also a spectral shift of the lamp in Standby, the infrared portion will be reduced down to 30% at this mode.
